Mike and I had a little staycation at the Delamar Hotel in Southport, CT this weekend and we had the best time. This is our second time staying in a Delamar hotel and let me just say they do not disappoint!
Let’s start with the hotel itself, all of the Delamar hotels are stunning and unique in their own ways. The Southport location has 45 rooms and when we stayed, they were all booked! I think that says a lot about how great of a hotel it is. When you first check in you immediately get offered a glass of bubbly to help you unwind and enjoy your vacation!
The Deluxe Guest Room
We stayed in their deluxe guest room but they have multiple different types of rooms. Our room featured a king bed, a marble bathroom, flat screen TV, and a mini kitchen with sink and mini fridge. Our room also had blackout drapes which is very important and an amazing temperature controlled room. I hate when I go to hotels and their AC doesn’t work when I sleep. I like it cold when I sleep even if it is freezing outside so that was very important.
Artisan Resturant
Next, I think we need to talk about the food! This is the third time I have been to the Artisan Resturant in the hotel and I swear it gets better every time. The restaurant was very busy, but it was a Friday night. That just proves how many people love it. Their staff is so attentive and makes sure your water glass is never empty and that you have what you need. For apps I got a salad with apples and mike got the oysters. For dinner with both got the filet minion with a side of whipped potatoes and for dessert we got the best cheesecake we have ever had. No, seriously. I have never had anything like it. We were so stuffed after but enjoyed every bite!
There are also some other great amenities like their gym which has everything you need as well as their spa. I got their signature massage but they offer so many different treatments. From facials, to deep tissue massages to even hair removal. I felt so relaxed after my 60 minute massage, something I really needed with the stress I have had lately. They also have a daily breakfast buffet which was nice. I got the yogurt bowl with granola and berries every morning.
Something we didn’t get to experience but hope to come back in summer to enjoy is their courtesy bike rentals to explore all that southport has to offer by bike! We also didn’t really get to enjoy outdoors just because it is so cold out and it snowed while we were there. Their outdoor space really is amazing, it is something you really have to experience while you are there.
