As people, like us, are getting the itch to travel, they are stumped where and if it’s okay. We say go here, The Inn At Hastings Park.
Just like you, we have been cooped up and itching to get away, for a day, for a night and the dream would be for a week. But there’s so much uncertainty and confusion with traveling in quarantine 2020. Can we? Do we have to quarantine after? Are they open? Is there anything to do? And so on. We are happy to report we found the perfect SAFE getaway for you and you won’t be bored.
We are taking you to Lexington, MA to The Inn at Hastings Park. For anyone in the Stamford, CT or Westchester, NY area, this is a great spot to travel to especially in the Fall as the leaves are changing. It is less than 3 hours away and is alive with things to do. You’ll also get the most welcoming arrival and will be informed with all the must sees around the area.
But what are the must see’s? We highly recommend checking out all the historic spots Lexington has to offer which can all be found on the Inn’s site here. It was amazing to pass by some historic landmarks and listen to Trisha, the owner of The Inn At Hastings Park, talk about everything around us. Another must see and explore is Wilson Farm. We learned this farm is the largest supplier of pumpkins to the Northeast. Now they don’t have their typical fall activities set up due to the current pandemic but it’s still a sight to see. It’s also a great place to grab all the pumpkins your littler heart can desire as well as get some great produce. We had Massachusetts peaches for the first time and our eyes lit up! Wow who knew you can still enjoy flavorful peaches mid-September.
Something else to do is rent bikes on site at The Inn and enjoy the 11 mile Minuteman Bikeway .2 miles away from your room. Another path would be the 1.35 mile Lexington Fitness Path which is also .2 miles away from your room. Both FREE and a great way to spend the day, enjoy the Fall vibes and make some memories where you aren’t stuck inside!
Now as you read there is plenty to do for a day, for a night or for a weekend. We only got to enjoy a night, which was fine because we had an amazing stay, but we are already itching to go back for many reasons. Some being the luxe rooms, the Molton Brown toilettes in each room (so yes you don’t need to pack your travel shampoo), the complimentary Volvo service if you want to explore more, and of course the elevated culinary experience they offer!
The heavenly culinary dream we had all in one night is something we are still talking about. We loved how Trisha took us step by step by first bringing us to the local farms to pick some of the items we were going to cook to the actual lesson and tasting. But before we get there, we want to talk about the fact that they go to local farms. They produce an impeccable meal because of the local ingredients and knowing how they are grown or raised. This to us makes all the difference and you will taste it. Also since they shop and support local, you’ll even enjoy seasonal cuisine, which in our opinion is more special.
Now there’s 3 ways to enjoy their cuisine. One is at their Bistro on site called, Town Meeting Bistro, and you can eat on the outside patio or indoors, reservations are requires and you can book them here. Another option is to-go ordering, so maybe you want to eat in your room or take something on your long day touring and enjoying. You can also order here.
The 3rd option, and our favorite which we HIGHLY RECOMMEND, is The Whispering Angel Culinary Garden. This is a new option and one someone should try if they are visiting. This experience is a private dining in their new private garden outside and you get to enjoy a cooking class with wine pairings. Do we need to say more! Expectational right? But you can do this for lunch or dinner and you NEED to make reservations which you can do so here. This is something we’d do again and again, not only for the food but for Trisha’s knowledge, passion and warmth!
So yes it’s safe to go to MA, no you don’t have to quarantine after, yes there is tons to do, and yes The Inn At Hastings Park is open and ready for your safe stay. Also did we mention that Boston is a short drive away?
