Beauty Blogging 101 Cancer

Three Months Later!

August 24th, 2015 was the day we found out I was cancer free and we can’t believe three months have passed already! It’s been a long journey and it wasn’t always easy but one thing we have taken from this experience is to enjoy each day and live life to the fullest!

The growth of my hair has been the most exciting part of recovery. Each day I wake up and there’s more on my head, it’s so exciting! Now my biggest struggle each day is bedhead in the morning but I’ll take it! I’m even trying to do a chic faux hawk until it gets to a chic pixie cut! A little trick that I think helped with the growth was taking biotin everyday.

Even though things have been going really well I did face a few obstacles during this recovery process. The four that truly bother me are my weight, getting back into shape, having all the energy I used to and just overcoming the emotional toll it took on me. During my treatment I was taking steroids and they made me put on a few pounds. I’ve been told it could take up to a year to come off according to the doctor. This is something I know I have to be patient with and not let it hold me back from being happy. Also I have to realize I’m not going to have the stamina I used to whether I’m working out or just constantly being active and doing things with friends. I need to work it up again and remember to rest when I’m tired! Lastly the emotional factor has been hard. I felt so lost and sad at times. There were days I’d just cry thinking of things I want to do, that my life was at a stand still and so much more. Luckily I have amazing friends that came in, brought my spirits up and held my hand when I was weak. For that I’m so thankful!
