Covid-19 Hobbies and Gadgets to try

Bored in the house and in the house bored? We put together a list of things we are trying during Covid-19…

In the beginning of Covid-19 we entered a slump. a slump of feeling tired, bored, sad, angry, anxious and so much more. but as we enter, what month 3, we have figured out some things to try, learn and do. So here is our list of things you should try during COVID-19:

  1. buy a outdoor bike
    1. the weather has been so nice, it’s time to get that heart rate up, get some vitamin D and breathe in that fresh air. I recently just bought myself an Electra Townie cruiser and you bet-ya I’ll be going for some rides! I’d call your local shops to see what they have if you are interested and get their asap because they are selling fast. I got mine at Van’s Katonah Service Center. They were EXTREMELY HELPFUL & FRIENDLY as i bought my bike through the window maintain safe measures!
  2. buy a spin bike
    1. Kelly and I both also bought stationary indoor spin bikes. She got it first and inspired me because of her amazing reviews. The one we listed below connects to all the amazing classes like Peleton and is under $1000! It was a no brainer to us, the one down fall is that they are backed up so it will take at least 30 days to ship. With that said, if this is something you were looking at, don’t wait!
  3. start outdoor gardening
    1. Another hobby I recently took being home all day is gardening and just making the outside a luxe resort…since we cant go away. So I’ve been trying to updating the whole back porch and pool area with new stone, plants, lights and more. This is a great way to stay active and give yourself a refreshing vibe when you look outside, not to mention how rewarding it feels when you see it come together!
  4. try some yoga (indoor or outdoor)
    1. This is great for someone that needs to relax during this time of uncertainty. With all the unknowns it gets scary and the feeling of nothing to look forward to, so our advice.. STOP, BREATHE & STRETCH IT OUT. We know many friends that do yoga and they only have good things to say. I will be trying to do it once or twice a week on my deck in the mornings. It will be a great way to start the day and start it on a positive note.
  5. play your favorite sport again
    1. Kelly and I were big soccer people so recently I bought a soccer ball and took it to the fields and it felt amazing. I forgot how fun and exhilarating it was to play a sport, it’s been a very long time.
  6. paint
    1. This is a hobby I love. I did art all my life and even thought my paintings may not be amazing i love the challenge. From picking the subject, sketching, mixing and so on, it’s a great way to pass the time and it will be a relaxing activity when the weather is not so nice outside to do the other items I listed.
  7. learn a new instrument
    1. I was listening the news and one guest on one of the morning shows was saying after COVID-19 everyone is going to have a new talent so I asked myself, what should I learn. I always wanted to learn the guitar so I bought I mid-price one which i listed below and downloaded an app that teaches me cords everyday if I wish to do so. It’s coming along and I’m excited to see how far I get through all this.
  8. learn coffee art
    1. Let’s not forget about kitchen fun! I am a huge coffee drinker and I always wanted to learn how to do some coffee art. I know I am not alone in this either so I found a good kit with essential tools and of course there are so many tutorials of youtube to help with the rest.
  9. practice decorating baked goods like cupcakes
    1. This is something Kelly is great at and I really admire! Just decorating baked goods to make special treats for loved ones. If you have the extra time, this is a great idea because you can even drop them off to some people that may need a reminder they are loved!
  10. bake a pizza
    1. Lastly and my favorite… MAKE A PIZZA! This is a family fun activity. Use all the toppings, make the classics and eat your little hearts away! Pizza making is always a good idea and now is the time to get some essential pizza tools.
