Ankle Strap Addiction

unnamed-7

Since early Fall we have been seeing a movement in shoes and that was the ankle strap. To us it seems like it all started with the Stuart Weitzman “Nudist” that’s now been featured on every celebrity down the red carpet to all the bloggers on Instagram. At first we were hesitant about this style thinking it would cut our legs at a funny spot and would not accentuating them. It was quite opposite though; an ankle strap will actually draw attention to the ankle, which is usually the thinnest part of the leg. So think of an hourglass figure and how you draw attention to your waist!

Not all ankle straps work though, I’d suggest trying them all on because in our search some hit us lower on the ankle and it wasn’t as flattering. Also walk around in the store for a while make sure the ankle strap isn’t rubbing to bad [it will rub to some extent]. If you find a pair that is a soft buttery leather that would be your best bet to avoid any friction to happen. I’d also suggest have fun with this style; purchase it in a whimsical print or fun contrasting colors. This style is very eye catching so why not make it pop a little more!

I selected a few of my favorites. My newest purchase was the Stuart Weitzman [Nudistsong] in bright candy aniline. This color option is sold out unfortunately. This is a 3.5” heel with an open toe {so make sure you have a good pedicure}. They were comfortable for only a certain amount of time but they looked so pretty so it was very worth it. One of my favorites is my Jimmy Choo [Malta]. This is more of a conservative ankle strap option but still has a sexy look when on. They are also on of my comfiest options. With a 3” heel I could wear these all night and they are very easy to walk in. Next we have my Chloe [Chunky Heel Sandal]. Not only is the grey color a great option but also the warp around ankle strap is a fun twist on the ankle strap look. This is a 4.9” heel with a 1.4” platform. Yes it seems very high but the platform helps out immensely as well as the block heel. These can be worn with multiple looks from a casual everyday look to date night. The last shoe is a purchase from my Italy trip last year from a company called Key Te. This mule like option meets ankle strap was eye catching for me for I haven’t seen something like it here in the states at that time. I wear theses with some skinny jeans and chic black blouse for a great going out look.
