Something Old & Something New

We love blending new and old! Buying great pieces are key when building a wardrobe. You want something that you will not only wear later on but something that will go with your new purchases. With that being said, when mixing items your outfit will always look unique and trendy. What we mean by that is that your new item is most likely on everyone’s wish list or they have already purchased it and the old piece cannot be purchased anymore and most likely cannot be found either.

This is truly a motto I stand by. Every time I buy something I think if I can mix it with old items I have in my wardrobe or if I’ll want to wear it later on – and yes that is hard call to make but if it’s a yes most likely you will. This maxi dress I bought last July at Rye’s Side Walk Sale. It’s a stretchy body-con style with two slits, one on each side. The interesting neckline makes it hard to wear a normal bra so I’d suggest wearing strapless, cutlets or even going braless if you can. It’s a lined dress and very tight so the girls should be fine! I’ve worn it a handful of times and have matched it with multiple new and old items.

My clutch is another old item that I’m so happy I purchased for [Kate Spade] discontinued making the book clutch line. You can only find them on sites like eBay, sometimes gilt and other resell/third party websites. This clutch is a bold yet whimsical piece. I always get compliments when I bring it out. Inside I can fit my lipsticks, cell phone, and another smaller item. You don’t need a wallet with it because inside the lining has credit card slots and there’s a middle zip compartment for your cash.

My new item is my [Aquazzura Sexy Thing Sandal]. These sandals are a staple now for me and work with so many of my old and new items for the summer. The heel is only 3.5” making them easy to walk in. They tie around the ankle, which I think gives the shoe and the outfit a flirtatious attitude that I love. I’d suggest ordering up half a size though because the do run on the smaller side; so as I said I’m usually a 38.5-39, I took a 39.5 in these. Lastly this shoe worked perfect with my maxi dress and clutch but I think it will work with other old and soon to be new outfits as well.
