Steve Madden is encouraging all of us to put an emphasis on the individual in all of us, no mater what generation you come from. This is their new campaign called #GenSteve. They stand for progress in today’s chaotic world that “imperfection is the new perfection and standing out is the new fitting in”. When we were asked to be a part of this campaign we couldn’t have been happier. In the blogging industry we all strive for perfection without realizing that what makes us unique is what makes us stand out.
This industry can be tougher than it looks and we all are constantly comparing ourselves to others. We don’t mean to its just a way of life, everyone does it. We love that Steve Madden is reminding us that being different is okay and that you don’t always need to fit in. It is something that we need to work on telling ourselves more. We are constantly asking ourselves questions like why don’t we have this many followers? Or how is she growing so fast? When really we should be focusing on ourselves and be content with where we are.
Now into the details of these sneakers! I [Kelly] commute an hour and a half door to door into NYC everyday. I live in Westchester which is about an hour drive to the city. I used to wear heels into work every day, that was until I had to walk 10+ block to work everyday. So now I am all about comfort [and sometimes changing at work instead]. I love that these wedge sneakers give me added height so I don’t feel so short. They are also super comfortable to walk in so I don’t have to switch shoes at work.
