One of our favorite animals is turtles so of course we loved making these turtle cupcakes. We saw them on Pinterest and were surprised at how easy they were to make. For our DIY Turtle cupcakes you will need
-Cupcakes
-Frosting
-Sour peach gummy ring candies
-Large green gumdrops
-Small red/orange gumdrops
-Spearmint leaves candies
-Mini chocolate chips
Once you have made your cupcakes and have frosted them you will need to get your candy sorted. First thing I did was to cut all the legs.
As seen here you take your mint leaves and cut them in half, then you cut out an oval shape into the leaves and the makes your upper leg. For the lower legs you take the leftover part of the mint leaves-sometimes this didn’t come out the way I wanted to so I just shaped them better with a knife. Once that is done I took the big green gumdrops and got a little icing and stuck the “eyes” on to it or the mini chocolate chips (make sure you press this in or they will fall off). Finally I took the mini gumdrops and cut that in half for the hump on the back. Once you have all of your pieces you are ready to assemble the turtle on the cupcake and enjoy!
